Today and tomorrow are the days for the fifth game of 24th Ryuo-sen between Ryuo Watanabe and Challenger 9-dan Maruyama. The venue of the game is Hachinohe-city, Aomori prefecture, where was hit by the March 11th quake and tsunami. In consideration of the recovery from the disaster, this is the third game to be held in Tohoku region following to the 1st and 4th games in this series. Lots of local shogi fans around the venue are coming to enjoy the commentary show of the game which is to be held near the playing room. Watanabe is Sente for this game. He takes the lead in 3-1 so he needs one more win to defend the title. Maruyama can't lose any game to survive. The opening they chose is Kakugawari(Bishop exchange) again. It is likely they will play Kakugawari for all the games of this Ryuo-sen.
It followed the sequence of the third game up to the 31st move, then Maruyama made change by not making his right kNight jump and retrieving his Silver to 4c from 3d. It parted from the moves of the 3rd game.
