On November 26 & 27, the 4th game of the 21st Ryuo-sen
4-win match between Ryuo Watanabe Akira and Challenger Meijin Habu took
place at Kikuchi Kanko Hotel in Kumamoto Prefecture. Habu was Sente player. The opening
strategy was Ai-gakari.. The game ended with Watanabe's
victory in 136 moves. The diagram below is when Habu resigned just
after Watanabe took the Pawn on 3i by his promoted Rook. After the
diagram, there will be no mate for Gote's King. Both King will be able to enter the opponents camp but Sente's point of pieces is not likely to reach 24 since Gote has two Bishops in hand in addition to the promoted Rook on the board(Rook & Bishop = 5 points/each, other minor pieces except for King = 1 point/each). That's why Habu resigned the game at this stage.
Habu still leads the score in 3-1. The fifth game will be held on December 4 & 5.
Again Habu lost because of illegal pawn drop mate... haha
He probably should have won the Oi sen too if it werent for that rule
If he ends up losing this series (and hence eiseiRyuou) then he has got to be the unluckiest kishi ever...
