Recently I read a blog which informs that Takahashi Kazuki, Yu-Gi-Oh's creator, enjoys shogi. And I found the reliable source information on the Net as below;
SHONEN JUMP
"A lifelong gamer, Takahashi enjoys Shogi (Japanese chess), Mahjong, card games, and tabletop RPGs, among other games."
There is information that it became clear in the interview with him published in the February 2003 edition of Shonen Jump(USA version).
um hi i dunoh if this is the right site but if u do yu-gi-oh i am
um yu-gi-oh is getting unpopular and i no it sound creepy but im crazy about it and
praying for it to come alive like a real duel disc
i no lots of people that want to play it but think its a little babyish maybe you could make it real and bring yu-gi-oh back and make it how it was in the good old days when i was happy :)
with the peple selling cards or making them they will also make proffit
cure it would cost alot to make a real dueldisc but once u do make one all the money would be comming in from bying cards and bying duel discs
i sound ded sad but i pray to god to make it come alive i feel like its my dream so
pleasse do this for yu-gi-oh fans that cry for it
cuz no matta what i cant get it out my head
