According to the page of Clubhouse Games in Wikipedia, DS card named 42 All-Time Classics are now on sale from September 29 and DS card titled Clubhouse Games is going to be on sale on October 9. They are the localizations of the Japanese version called "Daredemo Asobi Taizen(だれでもアソビ大全)".
More than 40 board and card games are included in the card and you can enjoy playing shogi and hasami shogi. They say the sales volume of "Daredemo Asobi Taizen" in Japan exceeds 500,000 copies.

I played Hasami shogi on clubhouse games. I don’t see the connection to shogi. Hasami shogi is like othello(reversi). Instead of flipping pieces you take them off the board. The one with no pieces left loses. Why is it called Hasami shogi? Does it have a connection to shogi?

It has been traditionally played using shogi pieces in Japan. That's why it's called Hasami Shogi. As you see, it can be played without using shogi pieces.
