Gekisashi came back to the winner - 20th World Computer Shogi Championship

20th World Computer Shogi Championship was held on May 2 through 4 in Tokyo. Gekisashi became the winner. Here are the standings of the final league.

A match of human vs machine will be held in this autumn

According to plural sources, a public match between Joryu Osho & Oui Shimizu Ichiyo and a shogi program which I guess the next winner of WCSC will be held in this autumn.

A video titled gta sa "GROVE SHOGI" MOD

I'm at a loss how I felt about the video. But it has something fascinating. gta sa stands for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas which seems a videogame.  Anyway, the game is Suzuki Style Ishida-ryu Sanganbisha though it's hard to follow since there are no vertical and horizontal lines to form each square.

I found a virtual board of Dobutsu Shogi(Let's Catch the Lion!) for self study. It's not a computer opponent. You can just move pieces of bosh sides by yourself for self study.

Two source codes went public

Two source codes related to shogi went public recently. One is shogi-game. And the other is Kota's 81 SquareShogiServer.

This project is trial to create modern, windows based, professional, fully skinnable, pluggable, and localizable application for everyone. For those passersby who just want to waste 5 minutes playing with computer, for those novice who want to learn shogi analysing professional games and solving shogi problems, and even for those shogi professionals who need hmm... who knows what the hell they need in this life?
