On December 10 & 11, the 6th game of the 21st Ryuo-sen 4-win match between Ryuo Watanabe Akira and Challenger Meijin Habu took place at Ryugon in Niigata Prefecture. Habu was Sente player The opening strategy was Ai-yagura. The game ended with Watanabe's victory in 70 moves. According to Watanabe, the 34th move of K-3a was his invention and he never told it to anybody before the game. The diagram below is when Habu resigned just after Watanabe dropped his pawn on 7f as the 70th move. However Sente's King would not be mated immediately, Sente was in the hopeless situation since he needed a Gold in hand to threatmate Gote's King to begin with G*2b. He had no hope to capture it in time. Here are three possible variations after the diagram.
