Crown Point High welcomes teens from sister school in Japan :: Neighbors :: Post-Tribune
CROWN POINT -- Arima High School in Japan and Crown Point High School are sister schools that have organized student exchanges for 10 years.
Twenty Japanese teens and two of their teachers recently traveled to Northwest Indiana for an educational adventure. Promoting friendship between the two schools has proven exciting and beneficial for all involved, said Noriko Wachowski, Japanese teacher at Crown Point.
The 10-day trip included many activities for the young people. Presentations to Crown Point students included topics such as shogi (Japanese chess), origami (Japanese paper folding) and dressing in a kimono.
I hope they keep exchanging through playing shogi games on-line such as PlayOK, SC24, Brainking and so on after they finished the program.
